Ingrown Toenail Removal

Ingrown toenail is a common problem resulting from various etiologies including improperly trimmed nails, hyperhidrosis, and poorly fitting shoes. Most patients present with ingrown toenail during the second and third decades of life, but teenagers often develop ingrown toenails after tearing the corners of their toenails. The affected ingrown toe nail pain is usually aggravated from progression, drainage, infection, and difficulty in walking. Excising the lateral nail plate combined with lateral matricectomy is thought the best chance fro eradication.
